About Viraj Mahida
Viraj is a self taught artist from India who has spent a long time abroad. Her creative pursuits has taken her to places like Japan, USA and Dubai where she persuaded her passion towards art. In each of these countries, she has picked distinct art forms and by applying herself, loving and learning to be with nature has found an explicit inner expression in her art work. She is a world traveller and a beloved artist wherever she has travelled. She was among the Top 5 artists at World Art Dubai 2017, Dubai.
Viraj was commissioned by The Arabian Centre Mall, Dubai to create unique work of art for UAE’s National Day by taking everyone along which was then awarded the silver medal at the Retail Conference MEA, 2018, as one of its large scaled CSR project. Viraj was recently commissioned by the Government of Gujarat to spearhead one of its kind Origami (Japanese paper art) based flag of India with public participation to commemorate the 71st Republic Day of India, 2020, at Rajkot. She is a proud owner of the prestigious ‘India Book of Records’ & ‘Asia Book of Records’ for this project.
She also has worked in the area of Art as a medium of Therapy and has extensively worked with autistic children at Dubai Autism Centre, Dubai. Her artistic bent of mind and Art curative helps patients with Alzheimer and Children with Autism which has also enriched & evolved her as a better human being.
