“I have known Viraj for over a decade and have seen her dedication and passion to her art in various capacities. Be it Origami, painting on walls with mirror work, painting pottery and even everyday cooking she gives off of herself completely. Every piece of her work is extra ordinary and oozes energy, love and elegance. I have a few pieces of her art work in my home and cherish every one of them. I'm happy we crossed paths in this lifetime and am a richer person for knowing her and her beautiful work.”

“Viraj is an artist who works with paper. Her signature style has been shaped by paper traditions of Japan, USA, India and Middle-east. As a warm human being, she cares not only for her art but for the tremendous difference it makes to children, to the nation and to those who are looking at art to transcend themselves. I wish that you would get a chance to attend one of her workshops or be part of one of her projects.”

“Virajkumari is a rare person. Paper and craft weaves magic through her hands. Her work is like a lost art form very rarely seen. She used this talent of hers to make the UAE National Day Flag for our mall in 2017 which was welcomed most lovingly by the Local Arabs of UAE. We further went on to win a CSR award at the annual award function of Middle East Council of Shopping Centers in 2018.”

”It's my pleasure to be writing about Viraj, or Shree, as we sweetly call her. She is absolutely talented and can literally turn anything insignificant into a piece of art worth showing off. She is dedicated, loyal and a hard worker who gives it her all, and achieves what she strives for. She treats her work as a form of meditation, be it painting, quilling, or even working her magic in the kitchen. Her sincerity and innocence is refreshing. At the same time, Shree is a very strong and level headed, well grounded and leads a balanced life. It's an honour to know her and also witness some of her classic work. Someone like Shree will excel in whatever is thrown her way. I wish Shree all the best in all her endeavors. Greater heights and more fulfilling projects is my wish for Shree.”

“Viraj’s natural talent in art is definitely a God’s gift. Utilising her skill for the betterment of autistic children and for patients with certain health issues is an humanitarian deed which needs to be applauded. As a person I have derived great inspiration from her courage and strength to single handedly carry forward the legacy set by her grand father and I am proud to call her my sister. May God always bless her.”

“Having known Viraj for a very brief period of time, I sensed her skills to be unique and a great artist with a passionate mind in the field of Art. She has created an unequalled art form which has made every proud Indian feel connected with responsibility towards Nation. She has established a bench mark that translates into emotional bonding towards one’s motherland which doesn’t require words to express. Her artistic bent of mind has created world’s largest handmade flag using Japanese paper art, Origami. The “FLAG OF UNITY” project was spearheaded by Virajkumari. The Gujarat Government is grateful for her hard work which every Indian can be proud about.

I have known Shri. Viirajkumari ji for over a decade. She is an artist par excellence. Writers pen stories on paper, but she can make paper speak. Her Origami, concept, and management skills were on display at the Night Court in Arabian Center Mall – Dubai, when she conceived, designed and executed the largest National flag of UAE in 2017 on the 46th National day of UAE using paper. Public domain estimated that over 24,000 plus pieces of paper, were folded, by residents under the able design and direction of Shri Virajkumari ji. I was also a proud participant. Above all, she is an all-round artist, with exceptional skill in sketching, painting and singing. She is also an articulate speaker. Her affection to spastic children shows deep sense of tenderness to the needy. God has been kind to bestow her with the strength to nurture art with humility in spite of all worldly challenges. I feel lucky to personally know such a soul. May she do well in life.

“Generally, abstract thinking, focused application and spatial cognition does not come all-in-one for everyone, but Viraj Kumari is unique in it all, hence her origami creations are exceptionally marvelous which has gained her great popularity in Dubai & India, one of her main intent is to teach the noble art to the needed, develop their brain, articulate the mind & hand coordination. In fact, she is a brain curator for the underdeveloped and memory enhancer for the normal human especially the children. I wish that she become the star of Origami- Best wishes.”

My ma is the best of the best. I would say no less. Throughout my life I’ve seen her make the most exquisite magical things. My loveliest hairstyles, personalized necklaces and rings, entire walls covered with dazzling mirror work, huge paintings of birds and flowers in my room and so much, much more. The backdrops of my life have always had her evolving works of art, either sung in song or painted across a wall or finding some other vibrant conjuring. Pretty cool backdrops! I’m excited for everything she does. Intensely lucky she’s my mum, so glad she’s out here, sharing her world of art with you. And so, a very warm welcome to PaperAutograph! We’re stoked that you’re here.

“Creativity, dedication, ability. Words which aptly describe Viraj. I have known her since our childhood and have seen her flourish as an artist and as an exceptionally compassionate human being. Having seen the commitment with which she threw herself into a mega and prestigious project like the Flag of Unity to lovingly making small sweet somethings as giveaways for my daughters, she has the ability to just make paper speak a thousand languages. Simply put, she is an artist par excellence.”

'“Viraj is an acclaimed and spontaneous artist whose creativity gets  reflected in every form of her art. I always get amazed with the versatility that she brings into her creation. She can give life to any ordinary thing that can be adored as collectable artisan pieces . I still remember the unique painting and crafting that she has done on earthen pots and made those exclusive showpieces for living room. She painted beautiful murals which are sometimes funny to decorate kids rooms and sometimes depicts divinity to adore your worship room.  Before seeing her work, I did not know Origami and Quilling had so many dimensions in itself. Starting from ideas to execution while focusing on details is what she is. Extremely lucky to get the opportunity of witnessing her creations and wish her the best to continue this artistic journey!!”

“Virajkumari is a remarkable genius. Her commitment to work and professionalism is unparalleled. I haven’t seen such paper art before and I'm happy to record that I participated in her "Flag of Unity" in Rajkot, a world record for the largest hand made Indian Flag using Origami. Feel proud to know her and her genius family.
Given Viraj’s determination, dedication, discipline and devotion, I've coined a special acronym that suits her to the tee:
V - Versatile
I - Imaginative
R - Remarkable
A - Admirable
J - Jovial
God bless. Please continue to outshine the stars and make India proud.”

“I met Viraj by chance through a mutual friend. When she introduced herself as an artist we were not unduly impressed as we were, in those days in Dubai, surrounded by artists of different hues and talents. However, when we got to see her art and ‘experience’ it (Viraj used to predominantly work on paper art those day), it opened up a new world of aesthetic for me and my wife, Mini. Viraj’s art invited you to see with your fingers as well eyes. While paper was her primary artistic medium, Viraj incorporated a mind-boggling variety of material and employed a wide range of techniques to shape paper - folded, curved, bent, cut, glued, moulded, layered and even stitched - into two- and three-dimensional works of art. It was a pleasure viewing and ‘feeling’ Viraj’s art. Almost as much as getting to know her. We wish her all the very best in her new project.

I remember spending many evening satsangs at their home that will go into early morning singing various raags and songs. Viraj sings beautifully. Every time, I was greeted to a grand dinner at their place and I used to wonder how someone can be this passionate and attentive  and cheerful. Then more I got to know her, I could see her cheerful drive to do anything including paper-art forms. I couldn't then believe that someone can create such intricate designs with humble-papers.
She would update me regularly on her ongoing work with paper-art, and especially working with kids that needed special care in Dubai and in this regard she was able to bring her attention and cheer to the kids and help them grow.I was also amazed at how hard she worked translating Sri M's work into Gujarati language in spite of being so busy with so many projects of her own. One thing no one will miss about Shree is her inner cheer, attention to details and passion to make this world a better place.

“Viraj is perhaps the kindest and most artistically talented person that we know. Her formidable quilling creations are astounding works of utmost beauty and detail. Her creations are ample testimony to her artistic skills and that she devotes daily to her craft. She is especially proficient when helping people who are developmentally or cognitively challenged. While working with the disadvantaged, she performs as a natural teacher and can communicate beautifully as she possesses an eloquent style of speaking as we observed during her discussion with a variety of professionals while she was invited at the American Embassy, Abu Dhabi.

We personally attest to Viraj’s fine character and profound sense of propriety in conducting her life according to ethical standards that surpass those of most people whom we know, both personally and professionally.
